(FULL) Culturally Relevant Teaching in Nature

“What do you do when they attack?” students ask as they unload the bus into a pine forest near Afton, MN. They are afraid of animals in the forest. Many of our urban kids are afraid of nature. This reflects a nature gap which is woven into a crushing achievement gap. Join Josh in changing nature-based anxiety to enthusiasm. Help all students re-engage and perform better in academics by exploring outdoor and community science. Empower your students to have their fingers on the pulse of climate change in their own backyards and schoolyards. Be prepared to step away from our screens & share nature observations during this session.
